Every once in a while, some of my students tell me: “Mr. P, we’re almost the same height!”
What a nerve! They’re in 5th-6th grade. Age: 11-12ish. They’re midgets.
I can’t say I’m tall. But I’m not short either. So you can’t blame me if I always give them the defensive look and say: “Dream on!”
But when I’m alone and I think about it, they’re probably right. I might have appeared shorter than I actually am. I also noticed that, for some reasons, I tend to slouch which makes me look shorter. I realize now that the reasons are not really “physical” related:
I am shorter when I feel tired.
I am shorter when I’m frustrated.
I am shorter when I lose confidence.
I am shorter when I feel shy.
This isn’t the way I want others to see me. I want people to look at me as a man oozing with confidence, not a weakling who needs to be asked if he’s okay every single hour. That’s why I sometimes dislike it when someone asks me: “Are you okay? You look a little tired today.”
When that happens, I immediately stand tall casting away negative emotions and thoughts. I try and make it a habit to stand in full attention because the next time people ask me: “How tall are you?” I want to see them ask with impressed looks on their faces.
In case you’re wondering, I’m nowhere near 6 feet, honestly. But that’s how tall I feel right now.
How about you? How tall are you?

I am closer to the ground when compared to you i guess
Even though i played basketball since early childhood and drink milk i stopped by 1.75 m

I added your blog’s link to the no-follow removed blog’s list with below wording as an excuse
Here is one good example to a no-follow removed blog : Planet Saedel
Wish you all the best!

I started 7th grade shorter than my science teacher (6′1″) but when I graduated 8th grade, I was taller than him at 6′5″.
5ft 3 1/2 inches and it is just a shade to short to reach the top shelf of anything. I would love a few more inches. But I know what you mean about pulling yourself up to your full height when you are feeling good about yourself.
I’m supposed to be 5′6″ in actual height however, I think my body structure has changed and the expanse around other areas is drawing from my height. But I loved the analogy there between how tall we stand and how tall we think we can stand by virtue of attitude. Good one!
@Mert
Btw, thanks for the link, I appreciate it.
I’ll return the favor one of these days.
I’m almost sure you are taller than I am, literally speaking
@Masked Man
Wow, man, you’re tall! Do you play basketball?
@Vic
But it’s ok, at least Michael J. Fox is shorter than I am.
An extra inch would make me happy as it would me taller than Tom Cruise
@Jeni
You’re tall for a lady. Do you think little Maya will grow as tall as you are? Thanks, btw. I’m glad you liked my post.
Actually I never played it in regulation. I played pickup games, but that’s all. I was more of a football player, loved knocking through the offensive line and knocking the crap out of the quarterback
Tall women are great! I love the long legs. My wife is my height at 5′9″ and I love it.

Ok, time to come out and play a game of tag. I’ve tagged you for a nifty and very easy little viral game so stop by my blog and get the instructions. You’ll love it! Trust me.
i’ve been filling my bio-date with 5′5″ but last time i had my annual PE, i was just 5′3″?hahahaha…hmmm.
btw, i normally stand erect (no pun intended) as our mother used to correct us while we’re all around the table during meal time. she hates it when we stoop and we’d hear from her about sitting straight often…and to think that she’s not in the military.
Well then, if that’s the case, I’m also 6 feet tall!
Saedel - when you do that kind of tag - the viral type - you need to copy the entire listing - from who started it down to the bottom and add your name, then go on and add your people you are tagging below that -ok? Just look at mine and go back to Stine’s and see her tag and you’ll see what I mean.

I am 5′-10″ and proud of it. I am glad that I do not suffer from “short man disease” because there is no way I would be dating my girlfriend who is 6′ and about 6′-2″ or 6′-3″ with heels on. In order to date a taller woman you really gotta be comfortable in your own skin; you gotta be confident. As you would imagine, dating a much taller woman makes me stick my chance out because I can handle it when a lot of other men are intimidated by this factor.
Great post brotha.

@Masked Man
Sounds like you’re one athletic guy! I’m into basketball but I play the guard position.
@Caveman
5′9 is tall for a woman… I assume you’re near 6-ft?
How can a caveman get a tall long-legged woman? j/p
@Cris

Your mom sounds like my mother, too!
@Tiffany
Tiffany gets it!
@Jeni
Thanks for the tag! See you at the other post! *waves*
@Marcus
Hey Bro, Nice post, and I completely agree with you regarding confidence. It is something I still need to master.
