Slider K2 Rolling Archive Problem: Finally Solved!

My slider (the thing that moves the page from older to newer and vice versa) was not showing up when I first installed K2 theme, and it took me a long (I mean long) while before I was able to finally solve it.

I tried going to different sites for solutions, but nothing came close. I even downloaded and activated Michael’s Rolling Archive but it gave me a fatal error and I had to delete the entire rollingarchive folder from the site to fix it. I wanted to give up, but deep inside, I had this feeling that the solution for the invisible slider is simple, I just couldn’t knock it down.

And then it hit me. Upon comparing the codes from other sites, the cause of problem appeared right before my eyes: my K2 folder contained space in between. The solution? Delete the space and off you go!

K2 v096 ———- —————delete space ——————— K2v096

Here’s the step by step process, in case the above exhibit isn’t clear:

  1. On your site, make sure that the K2 Rolling archives folder is deleted
  2. Find your K2 folder and make sure you delete all the spaces of the folder
  3. Upload the K2 Rolling archive folder at the PLUGIN Directory, BUT DO NOT activate it!

That’s it! For those who are still searching, hope you stumble upon this post and I hope this helps.
